The new provision related to the management of the Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has fixed the minimum frequency of meetings to make the administrative and managerial activities of the bank more regular and effective.TAG_OPEN_div_6 Prior to this, the management committee meeting was relatively less clear and focused on less frequency.
The management committee of the NRB must meet at least twice a month.
The NRB has also decided to expand its scope to regulate and supervise Citizen Investment Trust, Employees Provident Fund and Social Security Fund.TAG_OPEN_div_4 This provision will further broaden the role of the NRB in the regulation and supervision of these institutions related to the financial sector.
