Kathmandu. The Ministry of Health and Food Hygiene has activated the Health Emergency Operation Centre (HEOC) in view of the possible disaster and emergency situation.
Minister for Health and Sanitation, Nisha Mehta, said that necessary coordination is being made with Nepal Red Cross, Lions Club, Nepal Scout, Health Ministry of Bagmati and Gandaki Province, Kathmandu-based federal hospital and blood transfusion centre for emergency health service and rescue management.
According to him, the details of available and vacant beds in the hospitals in Kathmandu have been updated and preparations have been made for patient management as per the need. Also, ambulances and necessary medical supplies and equipment have been kept on standby.
He urged the people to contact the ministry’s helpline number 1,115 if they need emergency health assistance, information and coordination in the wake of the floods in Rasuwa.
