Kathmandu. President Ram Chandra Poudel has urged the Prime Minister to mobilize all the state agencies in the search, rescue and relief of the people affected by the flooded Bhotekoshi River this morning.

President Poudel telephoned the Prime Minister this evening and urged him to intensify rescue and relief and search for people in distress, informed Poudel’s press advisor Kiran Pokharel.

During the talks, Prime Minister Shah briefed the President about the loss of lives and property in the floods in Rasuwa and assured that the government would leave no stone unturned to mobilize all possible support to the people affected by the disaster by mobilizing all the state agencies for rescue and relief work, Pokharel said.

Earlier, President Ram Chandra Poudel said that he was deeply saddened by the loss of lives and property due to the sudden flood in the Bhotekoshi River. He also appealed to the government, political parties, social organisations, security bodies and the general public to intensify rescue and relief efforts at this hour of disaster. He also urged the people living downstream areas to remain alert and engage in necessary coordination and assistance.
