Kathmandu. The government has intensified rescue, search and relief operations for the victims following the floods in Syafrubesi and Timure areas of Rasuwa district this morning.
It has also directed the concerned Chief District Officer to shift the residents of the vulnerable areas (lower coastal areas) to safer places. It has also been continuously disseminating information to other people who may be further affected by the floods to shift to safer places. It has also urged people not to travel on the Prithvi Highway, Galchi-Nuwakot-Rasuwa Syaphrubesi road and Muglin-Narayangadh road due to floods.
Immediately after the directive from Prime Minister Balendra Shah, the concerned agencies have mobilized their mechanisms and intensified rescue, search and relief in the flood-hit areas. The disaster authority in the district has intensified its activity. Nepal Police, Armed Police Force Nepal, district administration and other teams have intensified the rescue and search for the victims. Similarly, the Nepal Army has also stepped up rescue and search for the victims.
On the instructions of Prime Minister Shah, two helicopters of the Nepal Army along with medical teams have been sent to the affected areas for possible rescue and relief. Also, helicopters of private companies have been kept on standby for rescue and search.
