KATHMANDU: The World Health Organization (WHO) is sending necessary medical and relief materials to the victims of the floods in the Bhotekoshi River in Rasuwa this morning.

According to the Health Ministry, the organization will send basic medicines and medical equipment to the people of 1,000 after talks with Health and Food Hygiene Minister Nisha Mehta. It is also going to send 15 emergency tents of 24 square meters to the affected areas.

According to the ministry, 100 emergency beds have been set aside at Bir Hospital and Trauma Center in Kathmandu for the flood-affected people. The ministry also said that three injured people have been rescued and brought to Kathmandu so far.

Coordination is being made with Kathmandu-based federal hospital, blood transfusion centre, Health Ministries of Bagmati and Gandaki provinces, Nepal Red Cross, Lions and Nepal Scout for emergency health services
