Kathmandu. Nepal Bankers’ Association has expressed deep sorrow over the loss of life and material due to natural disasters in flood-affected districts including Rasuwa. Paying tribute to those who lost their lives in the disaster, the association has expressed condolences to the bereaved family members.
Due to the floods and inundations, some bank branches in the affected areas have been affected and electricity and communication services have been disrupted, which has created challenges in the operation of regular banking services. However, banks are making efforts to continue the service and help the affected customers by making maximum use of available resources and alternative arrangements.
The association has said that it is committed to fully support the banking sector in relief, rescue and rehabilitation work in coordination with the Government of Nepal, Nepal Rastra Bank and related agencies. In addition, necessary initiatives are being taken for the search and security of some employees who have gone missing.
