‘There is no truth in the rumours of more floods’

Kathmandu. The Flood Forecasting Division under the Hydrology and Water Resources Research Center has clarified that there is no official information about the possibility of more major floods in Rasuwa and Nuwakot.

According to the Division, based on the information received so far and preliminary analysis, there is no credible basis for further flooding. The Division has urged the citizens to be patient and not to follow unconfirmed information and rumors.TAG_OPEN_div_14

Although the water level in the river may increase a bit due to rainfall in the area, there is no possibility of further destructive flood occurring so far, the Division said.TAG_OPEN_div_12

The Division has stated that it would inform immediately after coordinating with the security bodies and bodies concerned in the border areas if any big flood is seen entering the Nepali side.TAG_OPEN_div_10

In such a situation, official information will be disseminated as soon as possible through available media including SMS. The Division has urged to take necessary precautions and consider only official sources while receiving information related to floods.
