Kathmandu. The death toll in the floods in the Trishuli River via Bhotekoshi has reached 669.

According to Nepal Police, 669 bodies have been recovered from the flood-affected areas till 4 pm today. According to the Police Headquarters, Naxal, 13 dead bodies were recovered in Rasuwa, 49 in Dhading, 41 in Nuwakot, 54 in Gorkha, 31 in Tanahun, 248 in Chitwan, 158 in Nawalparasi East and 75 in Nawalparasi West.

According to Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Nepal Police, Abinarayan Kafle, 2,301 people have been rescued from the flood-affected areas so far. Among them, 676 are from Rasuwa, 1,622 from Nuwakot and three from Dhading. The seriously injured have been brought to Kathmandu for further treatment.

According to the police, 140 people are still undergoing treatment at different hospitals in Kathmandu and discharged after treatment. Some employees of Nepal Army, Nepal Police and Armed Police Force have also gone missing after the floods. According to the police, 44 Nepal Army personnel, 27 Nepal Police and 13 Armed Police Force (APF) personnel are still out of contact.

Police have intensified the search and rescue operations for the missing in the flood-affected areas. Security personnel and rescue teams from Nepal Army, Nepal Police, Armed Police Force and other concerned bodies have continued the search and rescue operations in the potentially vulnerable areas. Police have said that the search and rescue of the missing people has been given priority along with the collection of details of human and material damage in the flood-affected areas.
