Maxus Nepal donates Rs. 80 lakhs to flood victims

Kathmandu. Maxus Nepal has provided relief and assistance worth about Rs 80 lakh to the communities affected by the recent disaster.

With the assistance of SIC Maxus China and coordination with Himalaya Organization, Maxus Nepal provided direct financial assistance to the affected communities along with provision of clean drinking water and necessary relief materials.

Maxus Nepal has handed over a cheque of Rs 50 lakh to the Prime Minister Natural Disaster Relief Fund to the Finance Minister a few days ago. Similarly, relief and assistance worth Rs 30 lakh has been provided to the disaster-affected communities across the Trishuli River in Nuwakot for direct benefit.

Under the assistance, solar energy-based water purification systems have been installed in two temporary shelters. In addition, relief materials needed by about 400 people have been distributed.

A water purification system has been installed at Shree Bhairam Secondary School in Trishuli, Nuwakot. About 300 families are currently taking shelter in the school. Another system has been installed at Trishuli Primary School in Bidur Municipality of Nuwakot, where about 200 families are taking shelter temporarily.

Each water purification system has the capacity to purify one thousand liters of water per hour. This will help in providing safe and clean drinking water to the families living in temporary shelters while they are there. After the school reopens, students will also be able to take advantage of it.

The relief materials include mattresses, bed sheets, medicines and basic medical supplies, food and vegetables, cooking materials and utensils, clothes for men, women and children, among other necessities of daily life.

President of Himalaya Organization Dhruba Thapa, Managing Director Milan Thapa and other officials of Lions International District 325 J Nepal along with District officials were directly present in the relief distribution and installation of water purification system.

Maxus Nepal has said that the relief and assistance program has been run as part of its social responsibility.
