KATHMANDU: Nepal and Japan have completed 70 years of establishment of diplomatic relations.

On the same occasion, the ‘Nepal-Japan Festival 2026 ~Solidarity through Culture~’ is going to be held at Durbar Marg in Kathmandu on November 22.

The festival is going to be held under the aegis of the Nepal-Japan Festival 2026 Executive Committee.

The festival aims to promote mutual friendship, goodwill and solidarity through Nepali and Japanese music, art, culture and people’s relations.

The main attraction of the event will be a special musical performance by a famous Japanese band. The band is returning to Nepal after more than four decades of performing a historic concert at Dasharath Stadium in 1980.

Their return will add an important and symbolic dimension to the long standing cultural ties between Nepal and Japan.

In addition, the festival will feature performances by Nepali artists and various cultural, touristic and business exhibitions representing both countries.

In view of the dire situation caused by the floods in the Bhotekoshi River, all the savings collected after deducting the necessary expenses of the program will be donated to the Prime Minister Natural Disaster Relief Fund.

The festival is expected to contribute to the economic revival of the country by further highlighting Nepal’s identity in the international arena.
