Concern over EV accidents: Demand for implementation of ‘EV safety education’

Kathmandu. Lawmakers in the House of Representatives have said that an all-party committee should be formed by the parliament to make the search, rescue, relief and rehabilitation after the Bhotekoshi floods effective.

Taking part in an emergency hour of today’s meeting of the House of Representatives, they drew the attention of the government to pay attention to road safety and experience of drivers for safe transportation and rescue after disaster.TAG_OPEN_div_38

In the meeting, lawmaker Arjun and Narsingh KC drew the attention of the government to make the search and rescue work more effective after the Bhotekoshi floods and to forward relief and rehabilitation works. He said that his party was providing every possible support to the government in this regard and stressed the need of forming an all-party committee from the parliament for effective relief and rescue during the disaster.TAG_OPEN_div_36

Lawmaker Dhananjay Regmi said there was no doubt that the Bhotekoshi floods were caused by climate change, adding that Nepal has evidences as well as the studies and research conducted by ICIMOD and other bodies have already proved this.TAG_OPEN_div_28

Stating that the mountainous region has been affected by global warming, he stressed the need to prepare a joint statement during Prime Minister Balendra Shah’s upcoming participation in the United Nations General Assembly. MP Madhav Bahadur Thapa informed about the incidents of accidents in Siddhababa area of Palpa on a daily basis and urged the government to expedite the construction of the tunnel road at the earliest. He drew the attention of the government to the construction and repair of alternative roads.

Lawmaker Lal TAG_OPEN_div_20 Bikram Thapa said the rivulet flowing from the head of Itahari has breached and the market area has been inundated and the river has become taller than the dam and drew the attention of the government to take necessary initiatives for the prevention of the river in time.
