KATHMANDU: A large number of people thronged the Bhadrakali Temple premises in Kathmandu on the occasion of Vishwakarma Puja on Thursday.

Every year on the day of Ashwin Sankranti, Vishwakarma is worshiped according to the rituals. This day is celebrated by worshiping the picture of Lord Vishwakarma in various factories.

The workers celebrate this day with grandeur by decorating the factories in a special way. The idol of Vishwakarma made of sand and other materials is taken to the Bagmati source Sundarijal or other pure place and cooled.

There is a religious belief that worshiping the tools used by artisans on this day will bring qualities such as longevity, free from deterioration during the work and good work.

There is a religious belief that after Lord Krishna was tormented by a demon in the Dwapar Yuga, Vishwakarma made ‘Bhed Dwarka’ in the middle of the ocean and hid it. Today, worship is also performed on machines and vehicles equipped with engines.
