NC’s 15th general convention concludes in 6,132 wards of 73 districts

KATHMANDU — The Nepali Congress (NC) has concluded its 15th general convention in 6,132 wards of 73 districts.

According to the NC Central Election Committee, the convention was held in 6,132 wards of 73 districts on Saturday and today. Member Secretary of the committee Raju Katuwal said that the election of ward working committee and election of regional representatives was held in an enthusiastic manner under the 15th general convention taking place from October 1 to 19.

However, ward conventions have not been held in Rasuwa, Nuwakot and Dhading districts, which were affected by the floods in Bhotekoshi of Rasuwa on August 26. The convention has been held in Taplejung, Panchthar, Ilam, Sankhuwasabha, Tehrathum, Dhankuta, Bhojpur, Khotang, Solukhumbu, Okhaldhunga, Udayapur, Jhapa, Morang (except Constituency No. 6) and Sunsari among other districts of Koshi Province.

The convention was held in most of the wards of Madhes, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces. Member Secretary Katuwal said that the convention process has been started in other districts except Saptari Constituency No. 2 and 4, Sarlahi Constituency No. 2, Rautahat Constituency No. 1 and Parasi Constituency No. 2.

Except for Rasuwa, Nuwakot and Dhading districts, the election committee has decided to conduct all the ward conventions in Saptari Constituency No. 2 and 4, Siraha, Morang Constituency No. 6, Rautahat Constituency No. 1, Sarlahi Constituency No. 2, Parasi Constituency No. 2 and all the ward conventions that could not be held on September 19.
