{{TAG_OPEN_div_12} Kathmandu. The House of Representatives has formed a 15-member parliamentary special committee on the impact of climate change in the mountains, climate justice and the Bhotekoshi-Trishuli disaster.
Speaker Dol Prasad Aryal had presented the proposal regarding the formation of a special committee as per Rule 180 of the House of Representatives Regulations, 2083.TAG_OPEN_div_10
Lawmakers Achyutam Lamichhane, Anushka Shrestha, Gangadevi Shrestha, Ganesh Parajuli, Dhruba Raj Rai, Dhananjaya Regmi, Nisha Dangi, Pushpa Raj Kandel, Mohan Acharya, Ramesh Kumar Malla, Mingma Gyabu Sherpa, Rabindra Patel, Saraswati Lama, Sujata Tamang and Sita Thapaliya are the members of the committee. The committee will elect the chairperson from the first meeting.TAG_OPEN_div_8
The objective of the committee is to study the impact of climate change in the mountains and the Bhotekoshi-Trishuli disaster and recommend the action line for the state to adopt for rehabilitation, sustainable reconstruction, future risk mitigation, necessary legal and institutional reforms and climate justice.TAG_OPEN_div_6
