Kathmandu. Meghraj Poudel, who has been active in the automobile business for a long time, has been nominated as the vice-chairman of the Transport and Transit Committee of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI).

The Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) has nominated Poudel to the post of vice-president of the Transport and Transit Committee formed under the chairmanship of executive committee member Lilendra Prasad Pradhan.

The FNCCI has expressed the belief that Poudel’s experience, knowledge and active participation would contribute significantly to resolving the challenges of transport and transit sector, trade facilitation and making the FNCCI’s programmes effective.

Poudel is currently active in the automobile sector as the Secretary of the Nepal Automobile Dealers Association (NADA) and the Director of APCA Automobiles. He has been active in the automobile business, market expansion and policy issues in Nepal for a long time.

Poudel, who has been associated with the market expansion of automobile market in Nepal since its inception, has experienced the journey from a single showroom to the current expanding market.

Along with the automobile business, Poudel has also been active in policy and business issues. Through NADA, he has been participating in discussions with the government and related bodies on the issue of tax and revenue policy related to the automobile sector, assembly industry, electric vehicles, environment of business operation and use of local products and spare parts.

Poudel has also been emphasizing on the development of local production and assembly industry, use of domestic parts meeting international standards and business-friendly policy environment to promote Nepal’s automobile industry in the long run.

With the new responsibility, Poudel’s new role will not only be limited to the business activities of the company and brand but will also focus on the policy and business issues of the entire transport and transit sector.

The Transport and Transit Committee of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) has been presenting the views of the private sector on transport business, transit, trade facilitation and policy related to this sector. Poudel’s experience as the Vice President of the Committee is expected to contribute significantly to the upcoming discussions, policy formulation and initiatives.
