China’s share in industrial robots is 59 percent

Kathmandu. China’s share of industrial robots in the world has reached 59 percent. According to the ‘World Robotics 2026’ report, 354,000 industrial robots were installed in China in 2025. This figure is 20 percent more than the previous year.

Jane Hefner, president of the Frankfurt-based International Robotics Federation (IFR), said China has made significant progress in modernizing the industrial sector thanks to the National Robotics Strategy, which was launched a decade ago. The demand for industrial robots in China has come from the electrical and electrical equipment, automotive, metals, and machinery industries. In 2025, 96,400 robots were installed in the electrical and electronic equipment industry, 78,900 in the automotive industry, and 78,700 in the metal and machinery industry.

The share of Chinese robot manufacturers in the domestic market has also increased. Last year, the number of robots supplied by Chinese companies increased by 15 percent to 195,000. This is 55 percent of the total connections.TAG_OPEN_div_11

According to IFR, China’s industrial robot market is not yet saturated. The market is expected to grow by 5 to 10 percent annually by 2029.
