Kathmandu. The Beni-Jomsom-Korala road, a national pride road connecting north and south, has been closed for night from September 24 to 24.

Issuing a notice, the District Administration Office, Mustang said the vehicular movement along the border of Myagdi and Mustang from 6:00 pm to 6:00 am has been prohibited from 6:00 pm to 6:00 am in the night.

According to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority (NDRRMA) and the Department of Meteorology, Meteorological Forecasting Division, the decision was taken in view of the possibility of rain and snowfall in those days.

Yek Narayan Bhandari, assistant chief district officer of Mustang, said that the vehicular movement has been suspended for four days from Thursday keeping in mind the pre-warning of rain and snowfall.

According to him, the road section of Mustang along the Kaligandaki corridor might be disrupted due to the risk of flood, landslide and river erosion due to incessant rain.
