Kathmandu. Meteorologist Rajan Lamichhane has said that the rainfall activity will increase in the western part of the country in the next two days.

Rainfall is taking place in most parts of the country due to the influence of the low pressure system developed in the Bay of Bengal. Meteorologist Rajan Lamichhane of the Nepal Meteorological Department said heavy rainfall occurred in most places of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki and Lumbini provinces in the last 24 hours. He said that more than 140 millimeters of rain was recorded at the Archle Meteorological Center in Palpa.

It has been raining incessantly in different places since the past two days and heavy rainfall has increased the risk of flood and landslide in some areas, he said.

“The low pressure system is presently present in Chhattisgarh and surrounding areas of India and it will gradually shift towards Nepal and its influence will be shifted towards the western part from today,” Lamichhane said, adding that rainfall activities will increase in Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces today and tomorrow. ”

According to the forecast, the influence of the low pressure system will shift towards the west by September 26 and rainfall activities will increase in Lumbini and Sudurpaschim provinces.

Although the weather is likely to improve in the eastern region on Sunday, the influence of the system will be maintained in the western part of the country.

According to the Division, the weather will gradually improve across the country from September 29 and the impact of rainfall will decrease from October 29.

Meteorologist Lamichhane said the Department is monitoring the weather system continuously changing and updated its forecast and warning as per the need.

He urged the people not to travel unnecessarily and adopt necessary precaution in the areas where heavy rainfall is taking place and warning issued for flood, landslide and inundation.
