Manang. An avalanche has occurred at Himlung Himal in Narpabhumi Rural Municipality-5 of Manang.

There is a suspicion of human casualties in the landslide. Chief District Officer Mukti Prasad Khanal said that out of the 22 climbers (nine mountaineers and 13 helpers) who went on mountain climbing, about a dozen are suspected to be missing.

All of them had gone there to prepare for the mountaineering.

CDO Khanal said that although a helicopter had come to Manang from Kathmandu for the rescue, it returned after it could not land due to bad weather. He said that the exact extent of the damage caused by the avalanche has not been ascertained.
