Karnali. Major highways in Karnali Province have been obstructed due to incessant rainfall from September 22 to 10 morning.

According to Karnali Province Police Office Surkhet’s Spokesperson and Senior Superintendent of Police Santosh Singh Rathor, landslides have obstructed the Karnali corridor linking Surkhet-Dailekh-Kalikot-Bajura to Humla and Surkhet-Dailekh-Kalikot-Mugu along the Karnali Highway at Khacha of Sarkegad rural municipality-1 of Humla, Gagne Khola of Shuvakalikot rural municipality-1 of Kalikot and Aulise of Barahatal rural municipality-7 of Surkhet.

Similarly, the Mid-Hill Highway has been closed due to landslides in Samlekhola of Sanibheri Rural Municipality-2 in Rukum West, and the Rapti Highway has been closed due to landslides at Kharkhola of Kapurkot Rural Municipality-5 in Salyan. According to him, the Luham-Kalimati road section has been obstructed due to landslides at Ryalle of Bangad Kupinde Municipality-8 of Salyan and Dhungebagar of Triveni Rural Municipality-3.

Similarly, the road sections between Chhedagad municipality-4, Lewabhir, Kalikot-Tilaguha municipality-1, Bhigam, Tatopani rural municipality-1, Byranka and Rankagaun of Jumla, and the Gamgadhi-Nagma road section of Mugu Rara Chhayanath municipality-7 and 8 have also been closed.
