Saptari. More than 2,000 families have been affected after 500 houses were inundated by floods in Hanumannagar Kankalini Municipality and Tilathi Koiladi Rural Municipality of the district.

As many as 2,000 houses have been affected by floods in Hanumannagar Kankalini Municipality-5, 7, 12 and 13 and 17 houses in Tilathi Koiladi Rural Municipality-4 and 5.

Mayor of Hanuman Nagar Kankalini Municipality, Birendra Majhi, said that water entered the settlement after the water level in the river rose on Friday night.

“Arrangements will be made for two meals a day in the morning and evening for those affected by the floods, but additional relief materials will be provided after identifying the victims after the water recedes,” he said. ”
