Kathmandu. A total of 637 climbers have taken permission to climb 18 mountains in the autumn season. According to the Department of Tourism, 637 climbers of 68 teams have taken permission to climb various mountains of Nepal in the autumn season of 2026.

Information Officer of the Department, Suraj Ghimire, said that 474 men and 163 women have taken permission to climb 18 mountains. The department has collected Rs 238.5 million 17,797 royalty from climbers for granting climbing permits.

Among the mountains that have been given permission to climb Manaslu, the highest is Manaslu (8,163 meters). 500 climbers of 43 teams have taken permission to climb Manaslu alone. The department has collected Rs 22,58,57,189 royalty from them.

According to the Department, 34 people from four teams have taken permission to climb Dhaulagiri-1, 20 are of two teams to climb Putha peak, 16 are of two teams to climb Danga Mountain and 10 people of a team have taken permission to climb Barunatse mountain.

Similarly, permission has been granted to Mt Makalu, Gangapurna West (Langchannel), Thorong Peak, Norbu Khang, Annapurna-4, Chamlang, Lamjung Himal, Pumori, Saribung, Thapa Peak (Dhampus), Pokhara Khang, Ardang and Peri.

The Department has earned 1.5 million 68 thousand 734 US dollars (23 million 85 lakh 17 thousand 797 Nepali rupees) from the mountaineering permit issued by the Department.
