On the queries of the lawmakers, Chairman Dr. Bhatta responds: ‘We are systematizing the capital market through policy and legal reforms’

Kathmandu. Chairman of the Securities Board of Nepal Dr. Gopal Prasad Bhatta has said that works are being done to make the capital market systematic and transparent. He said this in today’s meeting of the Finance Committee of the House of Representatives.

“The Board is committed and continuously working to make Nepal’s capital market systematic, transparent, credible and investment-friendly,” he said.TAG_OPEN_div_42

In the meeting, he shared that continuous TAG_OPEN_div_40 discussion was underway with bodies and organizations concerned regarding the issue of securities, listing, market operation and regulation as well as protection of interest of investors.

} Responding to the queries raised by the stakeholders and lawmakers today, he said that efforts are being made to systematize the capital market through policy and legal reforms. Bhatta informed the meeting that the policy reforms are being carried out by including various checklists to be adopted while issuing the primary shares of the new company.

Mahesh Acharya, joint secretary at the Ministry of Finance, has said that the Ministry of Finance will come up with a 21-point action plan to make the capital market systematic. Hari Bahadur KC, president of Nepal Stock Market Investors Association, has said that the Securities Board of Nepal (SEBON) Act and Regulations should be made timely.TAG_OPEN_div_32
