KATHMANDU: Rastriya Swatantra Party (RJP) President Rabi Lamichhane has suggested that it would be better to release Nepali Congress President Gagan Thapa rather than persuade those who are murmuring within the party.

Lamichhane made the suggestion while addressing the inaugural session of the 15th General Convention of the Nepali Congress.

“Sometimes, it is better to leave Gaganji than to sit in a party and always fuss, always grumble, harass and seduce all the power,” he said, adding, “By saying this, I have given Gaganji a second virtue.”

Respecting the long political history of the Congress, he said that the party should now move forward according to the new generation and the new political situation. Stating that the history of the Congress is its great strength, he said that the party should move forward on a new journey by learning lessons from it.
