U.S. jobs crisis deepens, 14,000 affected in Ohio

Kathmandu. About 14,000 workers have lost their jobs in a truck factory in the US state of Ohio.

The massive staff cuts, which came just days before President Donald Trump’s election rally, have raised concerns in the local working community.

The former Navistar truck factory in southwestern Ohio was laid off on Wednesday. This has had a significant impact on jobs in the Dayton area.

Among those who lost their jobs is 30-year-old Kyle Bose. He has two daughters and another child is due in January. Bose said it is now more difficult than ever to manage the daily expenses of the family. According to him, the prices of daily necessities, including food, have also increased.

Bose had voted for Donald Trump three times before. However, he said that he was disappointed with the current situation. He said that there is a need for political change in the country.

Bose is set to take part in a campaign to reach out to voters for the Democratic Party in November’s election.

Meanwhile, Trump is holding an election rally in the same area on Saturday. The support of the working class is expected to be crucial in the upcoming election.

In the Dayton area, once known for its industry and employment, job losses and rising prices of daily essentials have added to the economic pressure on local families.
