Kathmandu. The amended statute of the Nepali Congress has been passed. The closed session on the second day of the 15th general convention at Khula Manch passed the amended statute presented by General Secretary Pradeep Poudel.
According to the amended statute, the central working committee will have 297 members. There will be one president, one senior vice-president and four vice-presidents. One woman has been made mandatory for the post of vice-president.
Similarly, there will be 3 general secretaries. In which one woman has been made mandatory. Similarly, there will be 15 joint general secretaries. The treasurer will be one of the central members. There will be one spokesperson and there will also be a joint spokesperson.
There will be 45 members in the open category. There will be 15 women in the open category. There will be four members including one woman from each province.
Also, two people including one woman have been made mandatory from the valley. Similarly, there will be 14 people including five women and one Madhesi from the Dalit category.
There will be 20 members including eight women in the indigenous nationalities category while there will be 18 including eight women from the Khas Aryabart.
There will be 13 members including five women from the Madhesi side. Similarly, there will be 7 members including 2 women from the Jan Samparka Samiti. There will be 3 members from the backward class.
There are 6 people including 2 women from Tharu. There are 3 including 1 woman from the laborers and 7 including two women from the occupational experts.
There will also be 21 youths below 35 years of age from all the seven provinces. Similarly, there will be one person from the disabled and three from the Democracy Fighters. The Central Working Committee will later nominate 66 people.
Although the statute was passed on Monday, the report of the president, vice-president and treasurer will be passed only in the closed session on Tuesday.
However, the statute was passed on Monday itself as the nomination of candidates will take place from 10 am on Tuesday.
