Kathmandu. Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has invited international tenders for design, minting, supply and distribution of 300 million units of coins of Rs 2 denomination.
Nepal Rastra Bank’s Currency Management Department has invited tenders from qualified security printing presses.
The central bank has said that it has invited bids through a ‘single stage, two envelop’ process. Interested companies will have to submit separate proposals related to technical and price by sealing them.
The last date for submission of tender is November 3, 2026.
The bidding company will have to submit a minimum bid guarantee of $132,000. The valid duration of the bid is 120 days.
According to the Rastra Bank, more information and documents related to the tender can be obtained from the Department of Currency Management. The fee for the tender document has been fixed at Rs 20,000 in Nepali currency, $131 in US dollars or 115 euros in euros.
According to the Public Procurement Act, 2063 BS, the blacklisted firm, institution or company and the promoters or investors of such companies are not allowed to participate in the bidding process by opening a new firm or company.
Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has stated that it can accept or reject any or all of the bids received in whole or in part without assigning any reason.
