Floods and landslides kill 13 people, damage worth Rs 500 million on main roads

Baglung. There has been a huge loss of life and property due to floods and landslides in Baglung. Due to the disaster, 13 people have lost their lives in the district and the main roads have been damaged to the tune of Rs 500 million.

The damage has been done to the state-level road infrastructure under the National and Auxiliary Highways and Infrastructure Development Office under the Road Division Office. It is estimated that more than one billion rupees will be spent to construct these roads in the long term.

According to the details, the Nisi and Galkot sections of the Mid-Hill Highway have suffered the most damage. Similarly, the Galkot-Harichaur-Tarakhola section under the state government has been damaged.TAG_OPEN_div_28

Kalakhola Bagar, Belbagar and Jaiminighat of Kaligandaki Corridor have been damaged. Vehicular movement has been affected due to landslides on the road from Baglung Bazaar to Sigana and the road from Baglung Bazaar to Tityang.
