KATHMANDU: The Nepali Congress (NC) will vote for the election of the new central working committee of the party’s 15th general convention from 10 am on Thursday. A total of 7,255 delegates will vote for the upcoming leadership of the Nepali Congress.
Coordinator of the Central Election Committee and senior advocate Prem Bahadur Khadka said although the voting was announced from 7:00 am on Thursday, it was delayed by three hours due to rain and some technical reasons.
According to him, seven polling stations have been set up in three places of Kathmandu for voting. For the convenience of the representatives, separate polling stations have been arranged on the basis of province and representation.
The Election Committee has designated polling stations at the National Assembly Hall, Khula Manch and Pragya Bhavan. Arrangements have been made for the representatives of Bagmati Province to vote in the National Assembly Hall.
Similarly, representatives of Koshi, Madhes, Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces will vote in the Khula Manch. Arrangements have also been made for those who have become representatives of the general convention from sister and well-wisher organizations and public relations committees, according to the election committee.
Polling stations have been set up at the Pragya Bhawan for the representatives of Gandaki and Lumbini provinces. The representatives of the respective provinces and groups will have to go to the designated polling station and vote.
According to election committee coordinator Khadka, the voting will begin at 10 am. Voting can be done only after verifying the identity of the representatives and voters’ list during the voting.
