788 climbers from 70 countries allowed to climb 31 mountains

Kathmandu. A total of 788 people have taken permission to climb 31 mountains in the autumn season.

According to the information provided by the Department of Tourism, 788 climbers of 91 teams have taken permission to climb various mountains in Nepal in the autumn season of 2026.

Information Officer of the Department, Suraj Ghimire, said that 582 men and 206 women have taken permission to climb 31 mountains. The department has collected 24 crore 72 lakh 7 thousand 601 royalty from climbers for granting climbing permission.

Among the mountains that have been given permission to climb Manaslu, the highest is Manaslu (8,163 meters). Only 500 climbers of 43 teams have taken permission to climb Manaslu. The department has collected Rs 22,58,57,189 royalty from them.

According to the department, 36 climbers of five teams have taken permission to climb Dhaulagiri-1. The department has collected 82,42,050 royalty from them. Similarly, 34 climbers of three teams have taken permission for Himlung Mountain. The department has collected Rs 2,087,800 royalty from them.

Similarly, 19 people of two teams have taken permission to climb Ama Dablam Mountain. The department has collected revenue of Rs 29.12 lakh from them.

Likewise, permission has been granted to Mt Putha Himal, Danga Himal, Barunatse Himal, Makalu, Gangapurna West (Langchannel), Thorong Peak, Norbu Khang, Annapurna-4, Chamlang, Lamjung Himal, Pumori, Saribung, Thapa Peak (Dhampus), Pokhara Khang, Ardang and Peri.

A total of 788 climbers from 70 countries have obtained permission to climb the mountain. China has the highest number of climbers with 118 climbing permissions. Apart from this, 65 people from Russia, 60 from France, 52 from the US, 45 from the UK, 25 from Poland, 23 from Nepal, 16 from Switzerland, 16 from Spain, 18 from India, 23 from Italy and 25 from Japan have taken permission to climb the mountain.

The Department has collected 1,627,659 US dollars (Rs 247 million 77,601 Nepali) royalty from the permission issued for mountaineering.
