Chitwan. IME Group, through its own hotel brand ‘Ila’, has given priority to the promotion of tourism and tourism infrastructure development in Nepal. IME Hospitality has been operating the hotel at half the cost of other hotels operating in Nepal under international brands.

Hospitality is operating a 65-room Ila Resort in Gaindakot, Nawalpur, a 35-room Ella Comfort in Harkapur and a 30-room Ila Comfort in Baglung Bazaar. In Kailali, Ila Lodge is going to be opened with 20 rooms and later with 65 rooms, while in Basantapur, Palpa, it is operating a 120-room Ila Resort.

The 35-room The Lakeside Retreat is in operation in Pokhara, while Ila Hotel Lazimpat is preparing to operate with 100 rooms. IME Group’s Chandragiri Hills Resort has 120 rooms and has been in operation for a long time.

In an interaction with journalists at Ila Resort in Gaindakot of Nawalpur on Monday, IME Group Chairman Chandra Prasad Dhakal said that they have more than 30 percent of the employees who have experience of working abroad. He said, “We have provided international level service in an accessible way.” He said that they have provided better service in Nepal at half the price than the international brand charges.

The hospitality has been operating its own technical training center ‘Kathmandu Technical School’ and has been producing trained cooks, waiters and housekeeping. They have been working in these hotels. Chairman Dhakal said, “Due to the skilled manpower, our hotels have been able to compete with other brands of international standard. ”

He said that the service could be provided at high quality and low cost. Most of the hotels are in tourist destinations. He said that hotels along with cable car are being operated with the idea that if international standard tourism infrastructure and chain hotels can be developed in all seven provinces, the stay period of tourists coming to Nepal can be doubled than the current one.

Chairman Dhakal said that the experience gained from the construction of tourist infrastructures like cable car, resort, theme park in Chandragiri has motivated to expand such projects in all seven provinces. “We think that if tourism infrastructures like Chandragiri could be developed in all seven provinces, the duration of stay of tourists coming to Nepal could be doubled,” he said. ”

He said that the construction of infrastructure including cable car, five-star resort, theme park, 3D park and temple in Chandragiri has helped to attract tourists and expand tourism activities. He said that a campaign to develop tourism infrastructure has been launched in all seven provinces on the basis of this experience.

President Dhakal clarified that the hotel of ‘Ila’ brand has been brought into operation with the objective of providing international level hospitality services in Nepal. He said that Ila has been brought into operation with the intention of developing a domestic hotel brand by using its own business network and experience.

He said, “Why don’t we build our own brand? If there is so much network and everything, then why not build our own hotel network? We have made it in such a way that it will not be less than any international brand of hotels.” ”

He said that Hotel Ila will provide quality service by utilizing the local environment and tourism potential. He said that the goal is to promote tourism by connecting wildlife safari and religious tourism destinations with an environment where one can experience the cold weather in the hilly and touristic areas while avoiding the heat in the lower areas.

Dhakal said that the government’s priorities, the aspirations of the general public and business sustainability have been made the main basis while expanding the business. “We have worked on three principles. “First, to invest in the areas prioritized by the government, second, to do the work desired by the general public; and third, to work in a way that is commercially sustainable. ”

Dhakal, former president of Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI), said that big tourism projects could be operated in the country through the mobilization of the capital of the private sector.

The Chandragiri, Maulakali and Lumbini cable cars of the same group have already come into operation and Jalpadevi will come into operation at Chisapani of Kailali in the coming days. 60 percent of the work has been completed in Pathibhara and another cable car is being constructed connecting Devghat to Maula Kalika. The process of cable car has been started at Sikles of Kaski.

Preparations are being made to operate a hotel in Rara of Karnali while a study is underway for the construction of tourism infrastructure in Madhes Province. Chief Executive Officer of Ela Hospitality, Laxman Thapa, said that the hotel has been providing service at 50 percent less than international chain hotels through skilled staff, modern facilities and high quality service.

He said that the manpower that has returned by using the knowledge and skills acquired abroad and prepared by himself is providing service. Thapa also returned after working in the hospitality sector abroad for 20 years.

He said that he has been able to provide high quality service after his experience in Tiger Palace, CG Hospitality, Yak & Yeti, Siddhartha Hospitality and others in Nepal. He said that all the hotels in the area are in beautiful places, which is also the choice of tourists.
