More than 1,000 tourists from 53 countries including Bhutan, America and Kakarbhitta have visited Kakarvitta

Jhapa. A total of 1,106 tourists have entered Nepal in the past three months through Kakarvitta. In the month of September alone, 605 tourists entered Nepal via this land route.

According to the Immigration Office, Kakarvitta, 281 foreign tourists entered Nepal through the eastern border point in the month of July and 220 in the month of August of the current fiscal year 2083/84. Tourists from 53 countries including Bhutan, America, Australia, Britain and Bangladesh have entered Nepal through the eastern border during this period, said Tulsi Bhattarai, chief of the office. According to the analysis of tourist arrivals in the three months, an average of 12 foreign tourists enter Nepal through Kakarvitta border point on a daily basis.TAG_OPEN_div_18

Since the tourist arrival season has started, an average of 19 foreign tourists have entered this border point daily in the month of September. Most of the tourists have entered from Bhutan. The arrival of foreign tourists is high from September to March.TAG_OPEN_div_16

According to Bhattarai, 478 tourists from Bhutan, 242 from America, 49 from Australia, 40 from the United Kingdom and 35 from Bangladesh entered Nepal through the eastern checkpoint in the past three months.TAG_OPEN_div_14

The immigration office of this border also issues visas for tourists. He said that 992 tourist visas, 75 relatives visas, eight marriage visas, 13 non-resident visas and eight SAARC endorsement visas have been issued in the first three months of the current fiscal year.

985 foreign nationals have gone to India in three months through Kakarvitta of the eastern border. Of these, 318 foreign nationals went to India in July, 230 in August and 437 in September after completing the immigration process.
