Solukhumbu. Every year during winter, the Khumbu area becomes deserted. The Khumbu area remains deserted during winter as the locals flock to the valley to escape the cold. Places like Lukla, Namche, Khumjung, Khunde, Phakding, Lobuche and Gorksep remain deserted during the tourist season.
