Kathmandu. Kathmandu. Finance Minister Rameshwor Khanal has inquired about the preparations for the elections. He reached the Gorkha district headquarters on Tuesday and took stock of the preparations for the election in the district.
On the occasion, Chief District Officer and chiefs of security bodies in the district apprised Khanal about the security arrangements and the status of compliance with the election code of conduct.
Chief District Officer Tulasi Bahadur Shrestha said no complaints of violation of election code were received in Gorkha district, ballot boxes have to be transported by helicopter in 23 polling centres and 83 polling stations have been designated as highly sensitive centres.
Finance Minister Khanal also visited the District Election Office. According to a press release issued by the Ministry of Finance, Chief Election Officer Bishnu Prasad Gautam and others have briefed about the preparations so far.
According to the press release, Finance Minister Khanal said that the preparations for the elections were satisfactory and there was an atmosphere of fair competition among the political parties.
