Kathmandu. A five-star hotel, Shangri-La Premier Resort and Casino, is to be constructed at a cost of Rs 120 crore.
With the objective of promoting and developing tourism sector in Madhesh Province, 75 rooms of international standard are being constructed with the investment of Satya Group, an international standard casino targeting foreign tourists, a banquet hall for weddings and corporate conferences and a premium club.
According to Group’s managing director Dharma Mandal, more than 200 youths will be directly employed after the construction of the hotel. According to Mandal, 70 per cent of the hotel will be constructed by bank loan and 30 per cent by Satya Group. The land for the hotel has already been purchased and mapped.
Briefing journalists about the hotel construction in Janakpurdham today, the Managing Director Mandal said that the hotel is going to be constructed as per the long-term plan to make Janakpur and Jaleshwor and surrounding areas as well as the main center of border tourism and visitors’ settlement and entertainment. The construction of the hotel is expected to boost commercial business in the area.
