Kathmandu. Similarly, Chairman of Ujyalo Nepal Party, Kulman Ghising, underscored the need of increasing energy sector to make Nepal prosperous.

Speaking at a press meet organized by the party in Rajbiraj today, he said self-reliance on electricity and development of agriculture sector was necessary for economic progress. Ghising said that the initiatives and reforms he has initiated in the energy sector have presented an implementable model for Nepal.

The Minister said that his experience could be utilized for overall economic transformation of the country adding that 30,000 MW electricity could be produced within 10 years. “The country will become self-reliant and the Nepali people can also be able to generate electricity for free.

Our party is clear that sustainable development is not possible without achieving self-reliance in basic sectors such as agriculture, drinking water, employment and energy,” he said.

Stating that the party was moving ahead keeping people’s expectation and needs at the centre, he said good governance, transparency and development would be accorded priority.
