Mountain Energy’s net profit rises to Rs 17.34 per share

Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: Mountain Energy Nepal Limited has published its unaudited financial statements for the second quarter of the fiscal year 2082÷83. During the period, the company’s electricity sales income increased by 14.58 percent to Rs 91.44 crore.

The company had posted a revenue of Rs 79.81 crore in the same period last year. The company has been producing electricity from the 42 MW Mistri Khola project and the 5 MW Tadikhola hydropower project.

The company’s net profit has also increased during this period. The company’s net profit increased by 5.74 percent to Rs 54.14 crore. The company had posted a net profit of Rs 51.20 crore in the same quarter last year.

During this period, the company has also received Rs 9 lakh as insurance claims. The company’s operating profit stood at Rs 64.96 crore. During this period, the interest expense of the company decreased from Rs 12.40 crore to Rs 11.15 crore. The company’s profit before tax stood at Rs 55.58 crore.

During the period, the company had paid-up capital of Rs 3.12 billion. The company has a reserve of Rs 1.33 billion. The company had posted a paid-up capital of Rs 2.60 billion in the same period last year. The company has increased its paid-up capital after distributing 20 percent bonus shares from the fiscal year 2081÷82 BS.

During the period, the company earned Rs 17.34 per share. Despite a 20 percent increase in capital, the company managed to maintain EPS of Rs 17.34. The net worth per share of the company is Rs 142.68.
