Gulmi. The test run of 132 KV double circuit transmission line from Tamghas, the district headquarters of Gulmi to Burtibang has started from today.
Constructed under the Burtibang-Paudiamrai-Tamghas-Sandhikharka-Gorusinghe 132 KV Transmission Line Project, the transmission line has been expanded through several local levels of Gulmi and Baglung districts.
According to NEA, 132,000 volts of electricity will be tested and transmitted to the transmission line from Tamghas substation at Unaechaur-7 in Resunga Municipality-7 to Burtibang substation at Dhorpatan Municipality-2 in Baglung.
NEA’s project chief Manoj Chaudhary said that the transmission line will be brought into operation regularly only after testing the transmission line for two days from today. The NRA has expanded the project from Resunga municipality-3, 4 and 5 of Gulmi, Isma rural municipality-2, Musikot municipality-1, 2 and 3 to Badigad rural municipality-2, 5, 6 and 7 of Baglung and Dhorpatan municipality-2, Burtibang.
The NEA has urged the public not to climb on the towers of the transmission line, not to touch wires or structures, not to go around the towers and not to let domestic animals out of the country, considering the risk of high voltage. Children have been urged to stay away from structures that indicate danger and to make children aware. The locals have also been urged to inform the nearest police post or NRA office if they see spark or feel any other risk during the test.
According to NEA, the project was constructed at a cost of Rs 4.50 billion. He said that the power supply to Gulmi and Baglung districts would be further reliable and consolidated after the completion of the project.
Project Chief Chaudhary said that the project will supply electricity from Motipur substation of Kapilvastu to Burtibang via Arghakhanchi via Unaichaur of Gulmi and Paudiamrai of Musikot.
Earlier, the Butwal-based substation was frequently disrupted when power supply to the district was wide. With the operation of the new transmission line and substation, these problems would be resolved and the electricity supply would be smooth and regular in the long term in the district.
