Myagdi. MYAGDI: The construction of 22.5-megawatt Upper Thulokhola Hydropower Project at Raghuganga rural municipality-7 in Myagdi district has completed.
The construction of physical infrastructure, installation of equipment at powerhouse and construction of transmission line has been completed. Project chief Shiva Sagar Yadav informed that test generation has started after completing the construction of physical infrastructures.
“Installation of dam, powerhouse, pipeline, transmission line and powerhouse equipment and internal testing has been completed,” he said, adding, “We are engaged in test production in the presence of the technical team of Nepal Electricity Authority.” ”
The project was started in 2078 BS. The project construction site is located in geographically remote and remote areas. A dam at Sugurthalama, a descender, 2,900 metres main pipeline and 300 metres search shaft pipeline have been installed. A switchyard has been constructed on the premises of the powerhouse.
This project is of a ‘run-of-the-river’ nature. A 132 KV transmission line with a capacity of five kilometres has been constructed from Fedi to Bandi by constructing 14 towers. The electricity generated by the project is connected to the central grid through 220 KV Dana-Khurkot transmission line through Tilkenichaur in collaboration with the Chimkhola-Mangale-Rahughat Hydropower Project.
Dev Energy Construction Civil, Hydro Mechanical and BFL Bangalore Electromechanical are the contractors. Citizens Bank and Machhapuchchhre Bank have invested 70 percent of the loan for the project. The promoter will have 10 percent investment and 20 percent investment of the project will be raised through the general public.
Three hydropower projects have already been constructed in Rahughat and its tributaries. The 35.5 MW Chimkhola-Rahughat-Mangale hydropower project promoted by Tundi Power and its cascade of 48.5 MW Upper Rahughat have already come into operation.
The 21.3 MW Thulokhola Hydropower Project constructed by Samyukta Hydropower Limited at Thulokhola, an auxiliary of Rahughat, had started commercial production from last August. Raghuganga Hydropower Project, a subsidiary of Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA), is in the final phase of construction of 40 MW Rahughat Hydropower Project.
