Kathmandu. Shiva Prasad Ghimire has announced his candidacy for the post of vice-president of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI). Ghimire also pledged to strengthen the representation of the commodity sector in the FNCCI, raise the problems of industrialists and entrepreneurs in an effective manner at the policy level and work for the welfare of the private sector.
Anjan Shrestha and Shiva Prasad Ghimire have been nominated for the post of chairperson and vice-president respectively. Similarly, Krishna Prasad Wale and Bishwanath Khanal are in the race for the post of member under the objective category.
A team of 14 members including entrepreneurs from different sectors has been put forward for the executive members. Ghimire has given priority to a strong federation and effective secretariat, strengthening of commodity council, development of youth-targeted start-ups and employment, protection and promotion of small and medium enterprises, industry, investors-targeted, construction and infrastructure-based industries, cottage industries (including handicraft, jewelry and cultural industries), production-oriented, competitive, agriculture, entrepreneurs and farmer-friendly agriculture campaign.
They have also pledged to work with a focus on education, health, expansion and promotion of export-oriented manufacturing industries, sustainable and secure future, renewable energy, good governance and policy reforms, protection of private sector and security of industry and business-friendly security.
