Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: The Airlines Operators Association of Nepal (AOAN) has increased the domestic airfare to come into effect from March 1. According to a press release issued by the association, the fare has been adjusted after the price of aviation fuel has increased due to the ongoing conflict in the Middle East and Gulf region.
Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) has increased the price of aviation fuel (ATF) by Rs 124 per litre to Rs 251 per litre. The nearly two-fold increase in fuel prices has had a major impact on airlines’ operating costs.
Along with the increase in fuel prices, the member airlines have to increase air fares and helicopter fares to serve passengers by managing their costs. The new fares have come into effect on all flights from today.
