Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: The Ministry of Education, Science and Technology has urged all the local levels to coordinate and facilitate to take necessary action against the schools not providing scholarships as per the rules.
Sending a letter to the Ministry of Federal Affairs and General Administration today, the Ministry urged the local levels to monitor ÷and facilitate whether the private and public schools have updated the details of the scholarships provided to the private and public schools as per the Education Act and Regulations.
According to the Compulsory and Free Education Act, 2075, private investment schools and schools operating under public educational trusts should reserve seats for providing free education to the students as per the number of students.
Likewise, the Education Regulations, 2059 BS states that the institutional schools should provide scholarships to poor, differently-abled, women, Dalit and indigenous students without reducing the total number of students by at least 10 percent.
The Ministry has urged all schools to immediately update the list of the students who will receive the scholarship on the IMIS after being selected through the selection method as prescribed. The letter also states that the schools should make public the details of the students receiving the scholarships in such a way that all the parents can see them and monitor ÷whether the details of the scholarships provided by the school have been updated or not.
