Bagmati Province lawmakers complain to PM about problems ranging from monkey terror, Shah assures

Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Balendra Shah held discussions with the members of the House of Representatives elected from Bagmati Province today.

During the meeting held at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers today, discussions were held on programmes that could be implemented within the current fiscal year 2082/83, long-term infrastructure development, agriculture, tourism, health, education, good governance and various social sectors.

The participating MPs presented their problems, possibilities and plans to be prioritized in their respective constituencies and put forth various demands and suggestions related to their constituencies.

On the occasion, lawmaker Ashika Tamang elected from Dhading-1 demanded the implementation of modern waste management system at Sisdol and Bancharedanda, effective monitoring of green sticker to control vehicular pollution and bring a special education package for Chepang and Tamang communities. He also stressed the need of according priority to the construction of Sitapaila-Dharke alternative road, according to the PM’s Secretariat.

Likewise, lawmaker from Sindhupalchowk, Yubaraj Dulal urged the government to formulate laws related to controlling monkeys, protect vulnerable settlements along the Melamchi and Indrawati rivers and resolve payment problems related to Melamchi drinking water project.

Badan Kumar Bhandari, a lawmaker from Kavrepalanchowk, urged the PM to forward the Sunkoshi-3 reservoir-based project, develop Dhulikhel as the capital of Bagmati Province, expand the Araniko Highway into four lanes and establish a specialised hospital at Panchkhal.

Hari Dhakal, a lawmaker elected from Chitwan-1, suggested the government to construct a safari route along the bank of the Rapti River, build a ‘high dam’ for expanding the irrigation facilities and implement online ticketing system in Sauraha.

Pukar Bam, a lawmaker from Kathmandu-4, stressed the need of implementing the master plan of the Pashupati area, formulating ‘National Budget Dashboard’ for increasing transparency and bringing integrated infrastructure development act. He pointed out the need to expedite the process for construction of a flyover in Chabahil.

Ramechhap lawmaker Dr Krishnahari Budhathoki urged the government to stop the migration taking place from the district, to generate employment and to complete the stalled road projects on time.

On the occasion, Prime Minister Shah pledged to gradually implement the issues raised by the lawmakers on the basis of budget and priorities. The meeting concluded with a conclusion to accelerate the overall development of Bagmati Province through effective coordination among the federal, state and local levels.
