Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: Students going for foreign study can now obtain a ‘No Objection Certificate’ (NOC) from home.
The NOC branch under the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology (MoEST) has signed an agreement between Tribhuvan University (TU) and Kathmandu University (KU) to make the NOC certificate faceless.
An agreement has already been signed with TU on April 18 for this purpose and an agreement has already been signed with KU. With this, students can apply for NOC online from home. Also, after completing all the process, they can print their own certificate and use it.
After the applicant has applied before the inter-affiliation with both the universities, the applicant’s citizenship details are found in the Citizen Information Management (CIMS) which is interconnected with the Ministry of Home Affairs and the applicant’s registration number and date of birth details are seen from the system where the applicant has inter-affiliation with the NEB.
However, in the case of the applicant going to study Master’s degree or above, the applicant had to have a university certificate in the application and since there was no interconnection with the university systems, the applicant had to be physically present in the office to verify the certificate details.
The revenue of NOC is fully collected online as it is interconnected with the Revenue Information Cashless Management System (RIMAS) of the Office of the Comptroller and Auditor General.
Applicants can download the approved NOC certificate from their own profile. The certificate has a QR code that can be viewed through the QR scanner.
According to the NOC branch, the applicant will not be physically present at the office to verify the certificate details on the basis of the university registration number and date of birth details of the applicant who has applied for Master’s degree or above.
