Kathmandu. Kathmandu: The Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) will remain closed for seven hours a day until May 18.

Chief of Terminal Management Division of TIA, Induraj Adhikari, said that the airport will be closed from 11:45 pm to 6:30 am for pavement construction work.

Construction is underway on the taxiway next to the runway. The airport is going to be completely closed at night for security reasons.

According to the notice issued by the Airport Office, the airport will be closed to speed up the construction. According to the notice, the Airport Service Provider has urged the air service providers to determine the work schedule of flight and landing as per the need to minimize the impact of the closure of the airport.
