Kathmandu. The Ministry of Land Management, Cooperatives and Poverty Alleviation has held phase-wise discussions with various stakeholders as it is preparing to return the deposits of the depositors of cooperatives.
A discussion was held with chartered accountants on Wednesday morning to recover the money from the troubled cooperatives and return the deposits of the aggrieved savers.
Immediately after that, Attorney General Dr. The meeting was held with Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) chief AIG Manoj KC and Narayan Dutta Kandel.
Attorney General Dr. Kandel informed the minister. AIG KC briefed about the status of the investigation.
After the discussion, Attorney General Dr. Kandel and AIG KC pledged to facilitate the process of expediting the recovery of money stuck in the problematic cooperatives.
On the occasion, Attorney General Dr Kandel said the Office of the Attorney General would play a special role in resolving the legal complexities seen in the process of returning the money to the savers. He said, “A separate desk has been set up at the Office of the Attorney General to look into the cases related to problematic cooperatives. ‘
AIG KC said, “The CIB will make necessary coordination to recover the money of the savers by resolving some of the complications seen in the investigation.” After the discussion, Minister Rawal said that the government has announced to start returning the amount to the cooperatives victims within 100 days.
