KATHMANDU: The Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of Nepal Police has arrested 2 persons for hacking the e-Government Procurement (e-GP) system of the Public Procurement Monitoring Office (PPMO).
The arrestees have been identified as 30-year-old Sudesh Pokharel of Siraha and currently living in Bhaktapur and 41-year-old Prakash Dhungana of Nuwakot and currently residing in Kathmandu.
They have been found to have manipulated the contract details by providing unauthorized access to the system.
Pokharel is the accountant of INCON Pvt Ltd while Dhungana is the proprietor of Kalpavriksha Builders Pvt Ltd.
They are accused of manipulating the documents of various contracts before the financial proposals were opened by accessing the e-GP system.
They were booked at the Nepal Police Cyber Bureau. Further investigation is underway under the Prevention of Organized Crime Act 2070.
