Kathmandu. The election atmosphere has begun in the Independent Power Producers’ Association (IPPAN). Various groups are in the election for the new leadership to be elected by the general assembly on June 12 for the next three years.

A new working committee will be elected under the leadership of incumbent senior vice-president Mohan Kumar Dangi. Incumbent vice-president Uttam Vlon has announced his candidacy for the post of senior vice-president. He has formed his own group.

Uttar Kumar Shrestha, Him Prasad Pathak, Sushan Karmacharya and Bikram Bista are the new vice-presidents of the group. CA TN Acharya and Kabita Kandel have filed their candidacies for the post of General Secretary and Deputy General Secretary respectively. Narendra Ballabh Pant has been elected as the treasurer. He is still in the same position.

Bijay Mohan Bhattarai, Kubermani Nepal, Suman Joshi, Shankar Basyal and Abedya Malla have filed their candidacy for the post of secretary.

Similarly, Anup Acharya, Jagat Bahadur Pokharel, Kadam KC, Barnad Lamichhane, Isha Shrestha and Pratima Gyawali are the members of the committee. There is a need for 10 members and the rest will be added later.

Announcing the group on Wednesday, Lama has prepared a manifesto on how to take IPPAN forward in the coming days. The manifesto has been named IPPAN Vision 2029.
