Around Rs 6 billion revenue collected in 10 months

Bagmati. The Inland Revenue Office, Hetauda, Makawanpur has collected around Rs 6 billion in revenue in the first 10 months of the current fiscal year 2082/83.

According to Yukta Prasad Subedi, chief of the office, the government has collected Rs 5.TAG_OPEN_div_10 92 billion revenue as compared to the fiscal year 2081/82.

The government has collected Rs 3.45 billion as excise duty, Rs 1.02 billion as income tax, Rs 82 crore 71 lakh 52 thousand as value added tax, Rs 51 crore 92 lakh 59 thousand as health risk tax, Rs 68.37 million as interest tax and Rs 15.98 million as restoration tax till mid-April of the current fiscal year.

According to Subedi, the government has set an annual target of collecting Rs 8.TAG_OPEN_div_6 44 billion in revenue in the current fiscal year.  Subedi said that more than Rs 100 million old dues have been recovered through campaigns such as reaching to the taxpayers’ doorsteps, making reminders through telephone and SMS, and publicizing tax exemption facilities.
