Still. The construction of the 140-meter high main dam under Package-1 of the Tanahun Hydropower Project at Rishing Rural Municipality of Tanahun district has been completed by 50 percent.

The project started on March 2 TAG_OPEN_span_8 3, 2081. According to Shyamji Bhandari, chief of the project, 424,TAG_CLOSE_span_8 120 cubic meters of concrete has been completed so far out of 850,000 cubic meters required for the construction of the dam.

The completion of the 140m tall dam is expected to establish Tanahu Hydropower Project as an important achievement in Nepal’s energy sector.

Under package-1, the construction of the dam and other structures is being carried out by Songda Kalika JV. 59 percent progress has been made in this package. Construction of tunnel and other structures for the construction of the main dam has been completed.

The Seti River has been diverted for the construction of the main dam. Temporary dams have been constructed in the upper and lower riparian areas of the dam.
